There were statistically significant differences in the prevalence of H. pylori among the study groups (p = 0.037, χ2 test). B) Percentage of cagA among patients with H. pylori infection. The prevalence of cagA-positive H. pylori was very similar among the study groups (p = 0.930, χ2 test). C) The prevalence of the different EPIYA patterns in the cagA gene is shown. The EPIYA-ABC and ABCC sequences were differentially distributed among patients with chronic gastritis, peptic ulcers, and gastric cancer (p = 0.000; Fisher’s exact test).
