The concentration of IL-17 and IFN-γ in the colon tissue was measured by ELISA. Compared with the control group, the colonic IL-17 but not IFN-γ level significantly increased in PI-IBS. The change of pro-inflammatory cytokines in the patients accompanied with the increased and activated Vδ1 γδ T cells suggested that this kind of subset could participated in PI-IBS through producing IL-17. All experiments were repeated three times. *p < 0.05, **p < 0.01
